The San Francisco Improv Festival celebrates and presents the best that improvisational theater has to offer in all its forms, with veteran and rising improv talent from the Bay Area and beyond. Our thirteenth festival features improvisers from the house teams of major improv schools to independent, regional troupes and duos that kick major ass. Support your faves, take some risks, and throw down with us. See you there.

SJ Comedy Sportz with Un-Scripted Theater Co & Danger:us!

Check out our only triple-header! San Jose ComedySportz, where two teams compete for laughs & points with the audience voting, judging, and (occasionally) ending up on stage. This 30-year powerhouse is joined by a SF improv landmark Un-Scripted Theater Co. and “Swipe Right”, an improvised show about the craziness of online dating in which the audience takes control of the characters’ love lives. The Next Generation Gap is a real-life father/son improv duo, taking on everything from Snapchat to dating to music. Their show is a revealing look at the different perceptions of each generation, especially when they reverse roles and you get to see what each one thinks the other is thinking. Equal parts performance art, clown and improv, JETZO performs in costume as a father and son from a small fishing village. Every show is their debut in America. They break every rule of improv, heavily involve the audience, and are always accompanied by a “musical cousin” — who might be playing anything from a guitar to bongos to a harp. More information…

Bingewatch recreates the lost pilot of a show that you have never seen but would watch the hell out of. Every show tackles a mash-up of two different genres, from police procedural to soap opera to something awesome that would totally get canceled by Fox in its first season.

From Los Angeles, Pockets combines the wonderful talents of nine veteran improvisors. Every show ebbs and flows in its rhythm, weaving together different scenes and themes into one hilarious and action-packed piece. More information…
