WORKSHOP: SF Improv Training Sampler
Sunday, September 11, 1PM-5PM
Heard about the different schools in San Francisco, but don’t know which one to try? Or you’ve been though one program and want to know where to go next? The SF Improv Festival is proud to present this unique opportunity to sample FOUR of the Bay Area’s leading Improv Training Centers all together in one four hour class. Each of these SF improv schools will offer 40+ minutes to this amazing smorgasbord of Bay Area Improv Excellence!
Story and Making Your Partner Look Good
This class will focus on the BATS style of improvised theatre: story and making your partner look good.
Instructor: Kasey Klemm
Kasey has served as BATS Artistic Director since 2011. He is a frequent director of Theatresports™, Director’s Cut!, This Just In (the News Show), and other formats including Improvised Shakespeare and Gritty Improvised Western.

Un-Scripted Theater Company:
The Un-Scripted Theater Company focuses much of their work on doing 2-hour longforms, either comedic or dramatic. This session will focus on skills and techniques that will help shift your focus at the top of the scene away from huge plot points and towards the establishment of what we call ‘Rich Normalcy’ within the world of the characters.
Instructor: Andy Sarouhan
Andy Sarouhan is a Bay Area native. His improvisation training began in 1992, when he joined his high school improvisation team. Since 2003, Andy has improvised professionally with Flash Family and the Un-Scripted Theater Company, joining the Un-Scripted ensemble in 2013. Andy directed the 2014 Un-Scripted showBeloved Strangers, as well as 2016’s The Short & the Long of It and Life in SF.

Just one Choice
Learn to make strong choices at the top of the scene to inform your responses in the scene. Improv is driven by character choices, so knowing who you are from the very beginning gives you the ability to move forward with confidence a sense of play.
Instructor: Kaeli Quick
Kaeli Quick has been a part of the SF improv community since 2011. She has also been astutely named “The Khloe Kardashian of SF Comedy” because of her big heart and even bigger butt. Currently, Kaeli performs with Endgames house team Chivalry Club in the weekly show #ThrowbackThursday. She’s a founding member of the ladies-only team Vagina Jones and co-creator of Endgames’ monthly Lady Jam. Kaeli also teaches at Endgames, coaches independently, and performs with the prolific sketch group Killing My Lobster.

Jill Eickmann is the Artistic Director of Leela. She has taught her unique holistic approach to improv to thousands of students from all walks of life. She holds a BFA in Theatre and an MA in Drama Therapy, and began teaching/performing improvisation in the Bay Area in 2003.
