The SF Improv Festival welcomes back 15 Minutes, SFIF ’05 and ’06 veterans with their brand of sharp, honest & therefore very funny improv. They are teaming up with LA improv and sketch regulars Dr. God featuring Dave Holmes.
Dr. God whose work has been featured on Comedy Central and National Lampoon was last in SF in January when SketchFest and the SFIF brought them to you. Since opening in Fremont, Made Up Theatre showcases interactive improv shows that use audience suggestions to create fully improvised scenes, games, musicals, and stories. Happy Karaoke Fun Time begins with an audience suggestion and their pick of a track off our ever-changing playlist of karaoke tracks. That song becomes the opening number to a long-form musical, made up entirely on the spot. All bets are off as the team improvises original scenes and songs without any idea what karaoke track our D.J. will spin next. We have performed in Chicago at Second City (Skybox Theatre), The Annoyance Theatre, Chicago Improv Festival, Focus on the Arts Festival, On WCIU-TV “You and Me in the Morning,” Studio Be Theatre, Gorilla Tango Theatre, and more. Inspired by the ancient Sanskrit word, Leela is a San Francisco-based improvisational theatre company and training center. Every work created is based around Leela’s powerful mission of truthful,artistic play. For the more honest we can be, the greater the chance for an empathic exchange in a theatrical community.
Ladies like to talk. Ladies like to gossip. Ladies like to sit and be ladies…sometimes. Local Honey, made up of Amanda Austin, Karissa Ross, and Nikki Gasparo, take a single suggestion and talk about it like ladies. They use their lady-like opening scene to inspire a montage of high energy scenes made up of dynamic characters with a focus on patterns throughout the show. It’s a sweet show you won’t want to miss! Serious V-Neck is a long-form improv group that takes three audience suggestions and then serves up an inter-twined evening of laughter and tears (mostly from David) with a side-dish of learning (for an additional $3.99). Members can be regularly seen in local LA dive bars. They’ve also been known to perform at The Groundlings, UCB, IO west and Comedy Sportz. Each show rivals the comic genius of SNL, Monty Python and Mr. Show combined!!!**

Dr. God is a comedy group that specializes in long-form improvisation. They perform regularly in Los Angeles on Saturday nights on the iOWest mainstage and have brought their live shows to festivals and theaters all across North America over the last five years, including Boston, San Francisco, Phoenix, Austin and Montreal.
Dr. God is comprised of five members: Sean Cowhig, Neil Garguilo, Brian James O’Connell, Dave Park, and Justin Ware. Individually or as a group they have appeared on or created content for Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Fox, Imagine Television, Warner Brothers, The Reelz Channel, National Lampoon, TV Guide Network, IFC, AMC, MTV, CNN and many impressive names that would probably be insulted that they didn’t make the above list.
