OCTOBER WORKSHOPS!

The SF Improv Fest is teaming up with EndGames to bring some Chicago knowledge to the SF scene with two great teachers from The Annoyance Theater: Rich & Rebecca Sohn!

Twenty-year veterans of the Chicago improv scene, they’ve performed with companies such as The Annoyance Theatre, The Second City Touring Company, and iO.

They’ll be, brining you 5 different workshops with lessons in character, heightening, emotion and the Annoyance style; three on Saturday, October 27th and two deeper classes on Sunday, October 28th, all at the Phoenix Theater. Don’t miss this unique chance!

SATURDAY OCTOBER 27th

REBECCA SOHN – CHARACTERS (10am to 1pm)

Think you’ve only got a handful of characters in your back pocket?  This physical class will open you up to upwards of 40 characters that you didn’t even know you had and show you how to create new characters every time you improvise.  You’ll be a character shitting machine.

RICH SOHN – IMPROV ANNOYANCE STYLE (10am to 1pm)

Can you say fuck the rules, fuck your fear and still support your partner?  Fuck yeah. Learn to make strong choices and hold on to your shit and why that makes you a more supportive scene partner.  Fuck. (there may be cursing)

RICH & REBECCA SOHN – HOOKS (2pm to 5pm) – SOLD OUT

Grab your shit and go!  Learn a bunch of different ways to hook into a character or a point of view at the top of the scene.  Take care of yourself and make your scene partner look good by making strong choices and playing with confidence.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 28th

REBECCA SOHN – EMOTION (10am to 5pm)

Make the single best choice you can make in an improv scene – the one that fixes all the little troubles that make your scenes tank.  This class teaches you what makes it the best choice and how to make it stick.

RICH SOHN – HEIGHTENING (10am to 5pm)

What do you heighten and how do you heighten it?  If your scenes sometimes have trouble taking off, this workshop will help you identify the power in your choices and turbo charge your heightening.
