2019 Workshop: “State of Play: Clowning for Improv”
We often spend our early improv years focused on what to do on stage. But clowns take a very different approach to training. The first thing we focus on is how to be on stage. This is known as state of play. We all possess an energy that’s completely unique to us. For clowns, harnessing that power is the key to everything. It allows us to be free and joyful. To commit without judgment and engage with audience’s in a profound way. This workshop will help identify your individual state of play. The exercises are designed strip away all the noise and distraction. Help you let go of judgment and hesitation, so you can be free, open and connected. And, in the process, make doing shows even more exciting and rewarding — for both you and the audience.
