Geraldine Carolan

Originally from Galway, Ireland, Geraldine Carolan now resides in San Francisco. Performing for almost a decade, she is a member of Stranger than Facts, Owl Of Minerva, Purple Couch, Cats & Dogs and Unhealthy Criminal Obsessions. She trained at Leela, Endgames, Moment and All Out Comedy in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has performed at Countdown Improv festival, Redrocks Improv Festival, Ireland Fest, Orange County Improv Festival and Happy Valley XL Fest. Geraldine has wanted to be a teacher and actor since she was playing with her neighbor Sharon when she was five years old. She recently taught at the Diablo Improv Festival in Walnut Creek. As a parent to special needs son, she has learned to teach according to the needs of the student. Everyone comes to class with different lived experience and wonderful strengths. She believes that listening and teaching each student as their unique self is the key to being a great teacher. She excels at grounded improv and honest big reactions and infusing honesty into absurd characters. Improv is community and play and fun and she feels very lucky to be part of the improv community.

2026 Workshop: React: Let your Body do the Talking

Have an emotional reaction, make a choice, add your brick to the scene/world you are building. If you build it, they will engage. React intentionally! The audience will hear your words And! they see the tiniest arch of an eyebrow, wrinkle of a forehead. Use this to your advantage, know that they are watching, react intentionally! This will help slow you down and be fully immersed in your character and be fully present with your scene partner. Fully live in the world you have created, fully live as your character in that moment. In this workshop you will learn to react authentically and use the slightly movement facial expression with intention and bring your scene work to a new level!
