Big City Improv is downtown San Francisco’s longest-running improv show! Featured on KRON-TV and KCBS Radio as well as a being an SF Bay Guardian “Best of the Bay” Winner, Big City performs short-form, long-form, and medium-form improvisation based on what the audience wants to see.
Troupe Bio: Big City Improv was originally founded as The Oakland Playhouse in 2000 by Justin Neal and Jayne Entwistle. The troupe grew and performed in various venues, including with Producer Fred Anderson’s “Comedy on The Square” at The Shelton Theater. The Shelton shows were such a success that the troupe began performing in San Francisco each week. The troupe still performs at the Shelton every Friday night doing short, medium, and long-form improvisation based on audience participation.
